Curatorial Statement
The exhibitions department of the Savannah College of Art and Design hosts Bringing Stories to Life, an exhibition that explores modes of storytelling in puppetry arts. Puppetry has been used throughout the world to tell historical, political, and folkloric stories through the use of various media such as video, animation and live performance. Storytelling is a celebrated foundation of puppetry arts and continues to evolve as puppeteers explore new techniques and adaptations of traditional puppetry. This exhibition features a group of artists who explore the whimsical, satirical, autobiographical, poetic, fictional and non-fictional genres of storytelling in puppetry arts. . SCAD's curator for this
